Grimsby Town Cricket Club has secured a new two-year naming rights partnership for its Augusta Street ground, with the venue becoming the Switalskis Cricket Ground.
The agreement will support the club as it continues to provide cricketing opportunities for people of different ages, genders and abilities across the Grimsby area.
The partnership began this summer and was marked at the final of the club’s 90th Knockout Tournament on 20 July, when Cleethorpes Cricket & Squash Club defeated Scunthorpe Town CC.
Emma Wigham, spokesperson for Grimsby Town Cricket Club, said: “As a community club, partnerships like this are incredibly important. The support from Switalskis will help us continue providing opportunities for people of all ages, genders and abilities to enjoy cricket and ensure the club remains a welcoming place for players, volunteers and supporters.
“We’re delighted to welcome Switalskis as the naming rights sponsor and are looking forward to working in partnership over the next two years.”
Switalskis opened an office at Fisherman’s Wharf in Grimsby earlier this year and the agreement forms part of the firm’s involvement with the local community.
Ed Atkin, joint head of residential conveyancing at Switalskis and a Grimsby native, said: “Presenting the trophies at the final was a brilliant way to start this partnership, and it’s clear how much this club means to the players, families and volunteers who make it what it is.
“As someone who was born and raised in Grimsby, it means a lot personally to support a club with such deep roots in the town.”
The sponsorship will run for two years, with Grimsby Town Cricket Club’s Augusta Street home carrying the Switalskis name throughout the agreement.
